What if your kid spent a morning learning to actually see the world differently?
Kids Photography Camp is back — a half-day experience where kids learn the basics of photography and walk away with skills, confidence, and photos they actually took themselves.
August 18-19 2026 · Kamloops · 9am–12pm
10 spots · Ages 7–14
Photography teaches kids to slow down and look.
To notice light. To make decisions about what matters in a frame. It's creative and technical at the same time — and for kids who are visual thinkers, it's often the first time a "subject" at school actually clicks.
At our Kids Photography Camp, we teach the basics in a way that's hands-on, fun, and actually makes sense to a kid who's never held a camera before.
No experience needed.
No fancy equipment required.
We provide cameras for those who need them.
WHAT THEY'LL LEARN
✓ How a camera actually works (without the boring lecture)
✓ Composition basics — what makes a photo interesting
✓ Finding and using good light
✓ How to photograph people, objects, and movement
✓ Hands-on shooting time with real feedback
They leave with:
✓ New skills they can use with any camera or phone
✓ Photos they actually took — and are proud of
✓ A whole new way of looking at the world

Questions parents usually ask...
"What age is this best for?" 7–14 is the sweet spot. Old enough to follow direction and handle a camera, young enough to be genuinely excited about it. Reach out if you're not sure.
"Does my kid need their own camera?" No. Bring one if you have it (camera or phone both work), but we have extras for kids who need them.
"Is it one day or two?" Two mornings, same group!
"What if my kid isn't 'creative'?" Photography is for analytical kids as much as artistic ones. The technical side (settings, light, composition rules) appeals to logical thinkers. We've seen the most unexpected kids fall in love with it.

ABOUT US!
Hi, I'm Julie — the photographer and creative behind Julie & Co. Creative.
I've spent years behind the lens capturing real, honest moments for people all across Kamloops, and photography has always been more than a job to me. It's how I see the world. And honestly? I think every kid deserves the chance to experience that.
This camp grew out of a simple belief: that creativity isn't a talent you're born with — it's a skill you can learn, practice, and make entirely your own.
I keep the group small on purpose, so every camper gets real one-on-one time, genuine encouragement, and the chance to walk away with photos they're actually proud of. No experience needed — just curiosity and a willingness to try something new.
I can't wait to see what your kid creates.
